3D Framing Course teaching you to frame 3 dimensional objects.

Overview

On this next level course explore how to display a wide range of objects and the options for staging and showing them. You might be an artist with specific framing requirements or wanting to offer a comprehensive framing service. The processes involved are to the Fine Art Trade Guild Commended Level so ideal for anyone wanting to frame professionally-a suitable introduction if you wish to study for the Guild Certified Framer exam.

What Experience Do I Need?

Previous frame making experience is essential, as you will be using these skills to further your frame-making repertoire. You will maximise the training potential if you are already familiar with specialist tools used in basic framing, able to cut mitres in mouldings, know how to form and fix a frame and how to plan, mark out and cut mounts. Our Basics of Framing and Mount Cutting and Decoration workshops will bring you up to speed.

Course Contents

This is a one day course from 10am–5pm. Class sizes are a maximum of 10 and we will supply each student with tools and materials to work with at their own work station.

During this busy day you will:

  • build a display box,
  • create a deep rebate mount,
  • attach an object,
  • make a frame,
  • assemble the framing package.

What Do I Need to Bring?

We provide tea and coffee, a certificate of achievement and a full training manual. Don’t forget a packed lunch!

We will also provide a 3D item for you to frame. This can easily be removed and replaced by another item of your choice once the frame has been completed.
